Los Angeles native Dana Dugan is an artist, aerialist, and producer based in Chicago.
She’s appeared in hundreds of circus events across North America as well as in cabarets, film, and television. A classically trained musician, Dana was a U.S Army, a schoolteacher, a triathlon athlete, and a flight agent before pursuing circus unequivocally. She’s sought out intensive circus and dance training across North America, most notably with Rachel Walker in Montreal, QC.
In Chicago, Dana performs and teaches with Aloft and has served as a founding member, programmer, and producer of the Chicago Contemporary Circus Festival. Dana is also the mother of two children.
Dana’s body of work and performances are honest and unapologetic, expressed with grace, beauty, and strength. Her unique aesthetic and style reflect her love and appreciation for the classic and sophisticated, while delicately integrating her taste for the raw and edgy. Dedicated and daring, her artistic choices are guided by courage, passion, instinct, desire, and heavily influenced by all genres of dance. Dana pulls inspiration from all facets of life, and has an affinity for exploring humanity and its infinite complexities.
